Huntingdon

Aiuchi first started a club in Huntingdon in or around 1999. It was originally taught by Sensei David Evans. Sensei Derek Culligan took the helm c2001. When Derek decided that the climate in Australia was more to his liking the club was forced to close. All Aiuchi instructors are unpaid and have day jobs, which can sometimes make teaching a club difficult. As there was no local instructor able to take the club over it was forced to close.

Sensei Keith Cooper, who once trained at the Huntingdon club, opened the Bedford Club in 2003. When the opportunity presented itself he then reopened the Huntingdon club in 2015.

We are in the main sports hall on the ‘dry site’, i.e. we’re in the bit without the swimming pool.

Turn right off St Peter’s road and then take the first right. We’re in the building on your left.

The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.”
